Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, Serious Krystyn demonstrated and gave me this little contraption called the Baby Plus Prenatal Education System. What it is basically is a little audio device you place on your belly which features a "curriculum" or a series of 16 naturally derived sounds that resemble a mother's heartbeat. As your pregnancy progresses, the curriculum also advances and the rhythm of the sounds increase incrementally. According to the studies, babies who use this product should have an intellectual, social, creative, and emotional advantage from the time they are born. Several parent testimonies even alluded to the fact that this product has helped their children with learning multiple languages and performing arts skills.
What I love about it:
I remember when I was pregnant with baby #1 (Leila), I would place my headphones on my belly at night playing soothing classical music. Unfortunately, this could only be done in one position so the limited mobility aspect was a definite turn off. This product, on the other hand, goes right into a little "fanny pack" thingy so you are free to move around, do housework, or whatever else while the baby's listening to the sounds.
What's not to love?:
The heartbeat sounds are 100% audible by not only the baby, but you and everyone around you. There is no volume adjuster, so God forbid you take a phone call or try to watch a movie, you'll have to shut it completely off. It's pretty annoying and takes some getting used to. My poor hubby just can't help himself and even though he knows what I'm doing, he will still proceed to ask me a million times, "What's that noise?" Actually, I'm not sure which is more annoying.
My final word:
Ok, show of hands: Who wouldn't want to have a genius baby right out of the womb? If you look around, just about every product on the market claims to make your baby smarter, sharper, more agile, etc. I have yet to find the marketing slogan "We'll keep your baby average or below the curve." So, there is definitely a reason to feel a little skeptical about these types of claims. My personal belief is that, while something like this probably won't cause any harm, it is likely to be a series of things that keep your child advanced in the long run, i.e. reading to them, good nutrition, etc.
I did read a little bit about the science behind the Baby Plus System, but I can't honestly say I've put it all together yet enough to fully trust the results 100% yet. With that said, however, I am willing to give it a shot, more so out of curiosity than anything else. It's easy to use and non-invasive, so why not? Meanwhile, I'll be on the hunt for other users of this product to hear their amazing genius baby stories.

I'll be interested to hear your opinion after baby is born... I got one of these for my MommyParty too and was completely turned off by the volume.
As I was reading through the literature one thing I noticed was it mentioned that your baby might be "more active" while you were wearing this and that made me wonder, is that a good thing or is the baby more active because this thing is so annoying. I'm choosing not to use mine.
Any updates?
